IMMIGRATION

These posts outline and share information on Immigration issues facing Escondido

A core principle behind all Escondido Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. Any one who cannot commit to these protocols should not attend.

One of the most traumatic aspects of the Trump administration is the excessive funding of the Department of Homeland Security and empowering  the masked, unaccountable ICE agents in our cities, and construction of deportation camps throughout the country.

Escondido has its own tragic history of abuse related to the immigrant community. Here is a Brief History of Escondido’s Anti-Immigrant Decision Making

Escondido is the city with the highest level of detentions in North County. In late, 2025 the Police Chief renewed a contract to allow ICE agents to train at our shooting range which is vehemently opposed by the community.

We organize to oppose and resist ICE abductions, detentions, and family separations. We work in partnership with the National Day Laborers Union and Sowing Seeds of Dignity Coalition. Follow our Facebook page and these posts to see how you can get involved in protecting our neighbors in Escondido.
