How to register to vote?
Register to Vote
You may register to vote in California, if you are:
- A U.S. citizen
- A California resident
- At least 18 years old on or before the next election
- Not in state or federal prison for a felony conviction
- Not declared mentally incompetent by court action
- 16 or 17 years old, and meet all the other requirements to vote
- You will be automatically registered to vote on your 18th birthday

Voting is the bedrock and foundation of our democracy. There is no more important action a citizen can take than to vote in every election.
Escondido is a majority Latino community and a majority Democratic registrations. The reason the majority of the City Council are Republican and frequently vote against the interests of the public is because most Escondido voters do not exercise their right-to-vote.
We hope to change this.
