Dane WHITE and Joe GARCIA have FAILED ESCONDIDO

Mayor Dane White and Deputy Mayor Joe Garcia (D2) have consistently turned their backs on Escondido residents who they are supposed to serve.

FAILED TO CANCEL ICE FIRING RANGE CONTRACT PUTTING US AT MORE RISK. Despite massive community protests, they chose to facilitate allowing masked, armed federal agents to practice shooting in our city facility, bringing fear, and increased ICE presence, to our neighborhoods.
FAILED TO PROTECT VULNERABLE RESIDENTS, REPEATEDLY. With violent, masked ICE agents prowling our streets, when the public asked for help, they refused—not even supporting a ban on ICE masks.
FAILED TO ADOPT HOUSING FIRST COSTING ESCONDIDO MILLIONS IN LOST FUNDS. By rejecting the proven “Housing First” model, White and Garcia have cost Escondido millions of dollars in state and federal homelessness funding.
FAILED TO REQUIRE AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS IN KEY LOCATIONS. Voted for luxury housing in areas where working-class families desperately need affordable options.
FAILED TO COMPLY WITH CLIMATE PLANS, WORSENING CLIMATE CRISIS. Refused to implement important aspects of Escondido’s Climate Plan and weakened environmental justice actions.
