Escondido Indivisible
Escondido Indivisible is a grassroots group organized to take peaceful action to guard our democracy. We rise together, indivisible, to create a society that is safe, diverse, equitable, inclusive, and celebrates all communities. We stand together to resist authoritarianism and efforts to dismantle our civil liberties, democratic institutions, environmental protections, and economic and environmental justice. We practice ‘radical empathy’ and work with joy and hope.
We send timely action plans along with other communications about our activities through this newsletter.

Who We Are
Escondido Indivisible is a grassroots group organized to take peaceful action to guard our democracy.
What We Care About
We stand indivisible to advocate on local and congressional issues that embrace progressive values and to hold our elected officials accountable to those values.
We stand indivisible to protect the vulnerable and to embody the principles of inclusion, diversity, tolerance, and fairness.
We stand indivisible to protect our earth and stop climate change. We stand indivisible to uphold and defend civil and human rights and liberties.
About Us
Escondido Indivisible was formed on January 26, 2017 and inspired by the Indivisible Guide to mobilize locally to resist Trumpism and affect changes locally. We protested against Trump and his authoritarian administration for four years and beyond, pressured our congressional representative for accountability and helped mobilize voters to flip our city council in 2018 to blue. We also spearheaded a local coalition to save our public library from privatization and outsourcing in 2017 (we were unsuccessful, but the efforts still left a big impact in our community and subsequent election in 2018). And we run a weekly newsletter going on for 5 years.
How We Work
We are dedicated to peaceful, nonviolent resistance and will work for social change consistent with our values. We are focused on civic and community engagement rather than policymaking, and we encourage all members to continue their efforts in other arenas and on other issues to provide a positive policy alternative to the Trump agenda. Within this group, we will focus on the elected officials and issues that affect our Escondido community.
